Elpy

Elpy provides an immediately usable IDE for python in Emacs. Initially i used this, but later stopped using it after repeated version conflicts and difficulties in using venv.

verify if pip3 is installed.

$pip3 --version

If not install pip3 using the command

$sudo apt install python3-pip

Now verify that pip3 is installed using the version option given earlier.

$pip3 install jedi autopep8 flake8 ipython importmagic yapf

$sudo apt install elpa-elpy

When i used the above command, it caused errors in Linux Mint. So i removed it and used the version from melpa-stable.
