I read parts of this book when the tamil translation of this book by Ra.Ki. Rangarajan appeared in the tamil magazine Kumudam. During the holidays at the end of my Matriculation exam, i read the complete book, when my father got it from his friend Gothandapani.

I don't remember reading any non-fiction book before this. Reading this book piqued my interest to read more about personalities like Gandhi, Benjamin Franklin and Lincoln.
