Cost of 1 ×1×10 foot RCC pillar?

The cost is going to vary dramatically based on the number of such columns you’re building. A single column might cost more, but the marginal cost of such a pillar as a part of a project might be a very less.

Assumptions

  1. Grade of concrete M20.
  2. The footing is already casted.
  3. There is no wastage.

Mix design for M20 concrete is generally 1:1.5:3 (Cement : Fine Aggregate : Coarse Aggregate)

To get 1 CuM of wet concrete you need 1.54 CuM. of dry concrete. This is because when you mix water in it, it undergoes shrinkage.

So we divide 1.54 cum. in the ratio of 1:1.5:3

1 + 1.5 + 3 = 5.5

Now we know unit weight of cement = 1440 kg/CuM.

So cement required per CuM= 0.28 x 1440 = 403.2 kg

We also know 1 bag of cement = 50 kgs

So no. of bags of cement = 403.2 / 50 = 8.06 = approx 8 bags.

Now we know unit weight of sand = 1600 kg/CuM.

So sand required per CuM = 0.42 x 1600 = 672 Kg

Now we know unit weight of sand = 2400 kg/CuM.

So Aggregate required per CuM = 0.84 x 2400 = 2016 Kg

Concrete required for Column = 1 x 1 x 10 = 10 CuFt

1 Cuft = 0.0283 CuM

10 CuFt = 0.283 CuM

Cost of cement is Approx 450 per Bag and loose cement is Rs. 10 per Kg = 450 x 2 + 10 x 15 = 1050 Rs

Cost of sand lets assume 113 per Kg (source SPS natural river sand 15 kg at 1699/- on Amazon) (per kg cost 113 Rs) = 113 x 190.18 = 21541 Rs

Cost of Aggregate is Approx 106.5 per kg ( Source Amazing Stones Natural Tumbled Gravel Stone Chips for Garden and Landscape Decoration, Multicolour, 2 kg at 213 /- on Amazon) (per kg cost 106.5 Rs) = 106.5 x 1570.53 = 1,67,262 Rs

10 mm bar 4 Nos = 4 x 10 ft = 40 Ft = 12.192 m = 1 Full length

10 mm steel dia weight = 0.62 / m = 12 x 0.62 = 7.44 kg

8 mm Bar for ring ( Spacing at 150 mm C-C ) = 1.16 x 21 = 24.36 m = 2 full length

8 mm steel dia weight = 0.395 / m = 24 x 0.395 = 9.48 kg

Total cost of steel = (9.48 + 7.44) x 60 = 1015 Rs

Water Cost approx 500 lit water required (200 lit for concreting + for curing + cleaning etc) = will cost around 300 Rs

Misc items (binding wire, Nails for shuttering, cover block, etc ) cost = 1000 - 2000 Rs

So the total cost will be approx Rs. 2,03,204 /-.

Although you can bring it down to approx Rs 38,000 /- (24000 /- for concrete and 14000 /- for labour, steel, shuttering, binding wire, nail, tool hiring, water for cleaning and curing etc) if you can order 3 CuM concrete from concrete plant which will cost around 8000 Rs per CuM ( 3CuM is the minimum order quantity)

Hope it helps
